Volunteers from the local Lowe’s Home Improvement Store (8601 N. Boardwalk Avenue) helped beautify Parkville today by rehabilitating the flower bed at the southeast corner of McAfee and Main Street at the entrance to English Landing Park.
The local Lowe’s store is part of a program called Lowe’s Heroes that encourages employees to team together to adopt a volunteer project with a local non-profit organization and make a difference in the community. Lowe’s Heroes has assisted their neighbors across North America by participating in more than 1,300 projects and contributing more than $1.3 million in materials. The program donates thousands of volunteer hours each year to improve the communities they serve. Mayor Johnston said “We are very appreciative of the Lowe’s employees who donated their time to do this project. It is a lasting gift that will be enjoyed by our entire community.”
