Paint Parkville 2015
From October 10 – 17, artists from around the Kansas City metro area converged in Parkville for Paint Parkville 2015. Paint Parkville is an annual outdoor painting event hosted by the Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce. The goal of Paint Parkville is to foster art appreciation by inviting the public to observe artists in action.
As part of Paint Parkville, the City of Parkville sponsored an exhibition at City Hall on October 15, 2015. There were 37 vibrant and unique paintings representing numerous locations throughout Parkville submitted for consideration. A judging panel made up of Mayor Nan Johnston, local residents, and City Staff selected Jon Schroeder as the winning artist. The winning artwork is pictured below and will be displayed at Parkville City Hall.
For more information, please contact Tim Blakeslee at Parkville City Hall at 816-741-7676 or email@example.com.

Earlier this year, a large cottonwood tree behind the McKeon Stage was marked as to-be-removed. However, a 15-foot section of the trunk will be left in place so artwork can be carved into remaining tree stump to serve as a symbolic monument in English Landing Park. The Parkville Community Land and Recreation Board selected their top three designs and suggested that the final selection should be done through a public vote. As a result, we want to hear from you!
The three recommendations are (1) Bald Eagle, (2) Grizzly Bear, and (3) Lewis and Clark. Representative pictures of these options are attached below. To vote, visit: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Z97CRFK
For more information, please contact Parkville City Hall at 816-741-7676.
