Save the Date! The City of Parkville will celebrate Arbor Day on Friday, April 25th at 2:00 p.m. in the downtown parking area between Main and East Streets across from the Farmer’s Market.
The Mayor of Parkville will read the City Proclamation declaring Arbor Day in Parkville and Wendy Sangster with the Missouri Department of Conservation will award Parkville as a Tree City USA for 24 straight years.
The public is invited to attend the Parkville Arbor Day celebration and observe the planting of a new tree in the downtown parking area!
Previously, Platte and Buchanan counties had been part of Clay County until an act by the Missouri legislature separated and created the new boundaries after the Platte Purchase of 1836.

Glen has been a driving force in the continued success of Cruise Nights hosted monthly by the Main Street Parkville Association. Glen provided direction from the start to help market, implement, and grow Cruise Nights. As a result, Cruise Nights continue to be a success and bring several hundred visitors to Parkville the first Saturday of every month, April through October (weather permitting).
Thank you for your service Glen!
In honor of National Volunteer Week the City of Parkville would like to recognize Deb Ayers!
Deb has been an amazing volunteer for the Park Hill South Band Program over the past few years. She has helped run numerous fundraisers, sewed the Park Hill South Spirit Flag (which was 30 yards by 40 yards), and volunteered to create all flags for the marching band and winter guard.
One community member said “Deb is an amazing advocate for the Arts in our school and community.”
Thank you for your service Deb!
