Newly crowned Miss Teen USA Sophia Dominguez-Heithoff will return to her hometown this Saturday, August 5 for the first time since winning the title. The 17-year-old Parkville resident competed in Phoenix, Arizona on Saturday, July 29 and has since been traveling in New York City to kick-off her year long reign as Miss Teen USA. To celebrate her accomplishments, the community of Parkville is invited to join Sophia and her family for a welcome home reception.

Mayor Nan Johnston said “We are proud of Sophia and we know she will represent Parkville well as she tends to her responsibilities as Miss Teen USA.”
Sophia is a resident of Parkville and lives in the Riss Lake subdivision. Sophia graduated from Park Hill South High School a year early and will start her freshman year at the University of Kansas. She plans to go on to law school and pursue a degree in political science and ethics. Sophia created Community and Scholars Cooperatively, an organization focused on making community service opportunities fun and easy for teenagers.
