The City of Parkville will be closing portions of Main Street near downtown Parkville and all of Waters Edge at the National beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016. Streets impacted include Main, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th streets in downtown Parkville and Waters Edge in the National.
Drivers can expect delays of up to 15 minutes during the microsurfacing operation which is anticipated to last one day. Residents and visitors can help during this process by:
- Moving all vehicles from Main Street to the downtown parking lots on the south side of the railroad tracks and removing all vehicles parked on Waters Edge.
- Using caution and being patient during delays while the crews work in these areas.
- Turning off all sprinkler systems to keep water from running onto the streets or down the curb line for the duration of the project.
All vehicles must be removed from Main Street, from 2nd to 7th streets, and from Waters Edge before 7:00 a.m. on Monday, July 25, 2016. Any cars left parked on the streets in both areas after 7:00 a.m. will be towed.
Please notify the City immediately to make arrangements for any circumstances that require special needs. For questions regarding the program or to make special arrangements, contact Public Works Director of Operations Alan Schank at (913) 915-4156.
