The City of Parkville selected Dale Brouk as the recipient of the City’s 2019 Civic Leadership Award, presented by the West Gate Division of the Missouri Municipal League (MML), to recognize his outstanding contributions as a civic leader in developing a stronger Parkville. Dale accepted the certificate of appreciation at the MML’s annual banquet on July 25th.
The West Gate Division of MML hosts a Civic Leadership Award Banquet annually to give West Gate communities an opportunity to recognize the exceptional contributions of business and civic leaders in developing stronger cities. The West Gate Region of MML consists of member municipalities in the five metropolitan counties of Jackson, Clay, Platte, Ray and Cass.
Dale Brouk was chosen by the City because of his active involvement in the community. He volunteers as a member on the Parkville Economic Development Council, Parkville Chamber of Commerce, Northland Regional Chamber of Commerce and the Buck O’Neil Bridge Committee. In addition to being a member of these groups, he is president of the Parkville Industrial Development Authority, chairman of the Platte County Economic Development Council and treasurer of the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church. Dale is also involved in a fundraising committee with Park University for the new Warrior Center/Business School. He was also instrumental in the formation of the 9 Highway Corridor Community Improvement District that will fund safety and capacity improvements to the corridor. He currently serves as the president of the Board of Directors.
Dale is the president of the charity Generosity USA and has operated it, along with Jeff Erickson, since 2011. The sole purpose of the charity is to raise money to fund northland food banks. Since 2011, they have donated more than $150,000 to three northland food banks, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, A Turning Point and The Gathering Place. All the food banks are Harvester certified.
Mayor Nan Johnston said, “Dale’s contributions are numerous and add to the quality of life our residents enjoy. We are pleased and honored to recognize his selfless work on behalf of Parkville and our surrounding communities.”
