The City of Parkville is pleased to announce that Melissa McChesney, City of Parkville City Clerk, recently received her certification as a Missouri Registered City Clerk (MRCC) from the Missouri City Clerk & Finance Officers Association (MoCCFOA).
The goal of the MoCCFOA is to instill a desire for continuing the education and personal development of Missouri municipal clerks by inviting them to extend beyond their present level of development. MRCC symbolizes the knowledge and methods of a municipal clerk to execute the duties of his/her office, as well as develop familiarity with the theory and practices of the municipality. It also improves on-the-job ability and enhances the clerk personally and professionally.
As part of the certification process, McChesney was an active municipal clerk in a Missouri municipality and an active member of MoCCFOA for over two years. She also attended over 50 hours of numerous training sessions and affirmed the Missouri Clerks’ Code of Ethics.
City Administrator Lauren Palmer said “No one is more deserving of this designation than Melissa. In her three years at the City, she has implemented numerous improvements to records management and public information. I am so proud of this accomplishment and her commitment to ongoing professional development.”
McChesney was recognized for her accomplishment at the July 5, 2016, Parkville Board of Alderman meeting. For more information regarding the certification, please contact Parkville City Hall at (816) 741-7676.
