The Parkville Symphonic Band will celebrate Independence Day with its 20th consecutive July 4 Concert on Friday, July 4, at 7:30 p.m., in the Park University Graham Tyler Memorial Chapel on the Park University Campus in Parkville, Missouri. The spirit and tension of the American Revolution will be captured in music with The Lions of North Bridge, portraying the first victory of the Colonists over the British at Concord, Massachusetts in 1775. Other musical selections will feature music of John Williams for the original Star Wars movie, and The Cowboys overture. Even more trumpet virtuosity will be on display in Bugler’s Holiday. The many familiar folk and patriotic tunes of Panorama U.S.A. will have you tapping your toe, and humming along, and of course we will include National Emblem March and Stars and Stripes!
Admittance to the concert is free. Afterwards, relax on the Park Chapel Lawn and enjoy the Parkville fireworks show at 9:45. Lawn chairs or a blanket, and insect repellent are recommended. More information is at ParkvilleSymphonicBand.org.
