Kari Lamer was officially recognized for her service to the City of Parkville at last night’s Board of Aldermen meeting. Lamer resigned as Alderman due to a temporary move outside of the City limits while their new home is being constructed. Lamer was elected by write-in ballot in 2012 and was re-elected in 2014. Lamer also served as the City’s voting member to the Parkville Economic Development Council.
Mayor Johnston indicated that there are no plans to appoint a temporary replacement because the election is four months away. Candidates interesting in running for the vacant position may file at City Hall, 8880 Clark Avenue, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. beginning December 15, 2015, and closing at 5:00 p.m. on January 19, 2016. The election is April 5, 2016.
