PARKVILLE BEGINS NEW VOLUNTEER PROGRAM
PARKVILLE, MO, APRIL 8, 2015 – The City of Parkville is about to kick start a new volunteer management platform called Volunteer Parkville! Volunteer Parkville uses Meetup.com to organize volunteers and volunteer activities citywide. The site gives the city and city partners the ability to easily schedule and share events with area volunteers.
Joining Volunteer Parkville will allow area volunteers to easily view and RSVP to local events and activities taking place within Parkville. To become a member, just visit the Volunteer Parkville webpage at www.meetup.com/volunteer-parkville/ and click “Join Us”. Volunteers will be asked to create a small profile with basic contact information. Events seeking volunteers will be listed beginning April 13, 2015.
The goal of Volunteer Parkville is to host a central location where the Parkville volunteering community can grow and thrive. Griffin Burri, Parkville City Hall Intern and Northland CAPS student, stated that “Volunteer Parkville is a simple online system to help organize the talents and skills of area volunteers in one place!”
