Flood Protection Study (2013)

floodprotectionstudycoverThis study was prepared through the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under the authority of Section 22 of the Water Resources Development Act of 1974. The Study was conducted by CDM Federal Programs Corporation (CDM Smith) on behalf of the USACE to develop flood protection recommendations that can be incorporated into an integrated, cost efficient, and effective flood protection plan for the City of Parkville. It focused on two separate areas in Parkville for flood planning: the historic downtown business district and English Landing Riverfront Park. The Downtown study area is north of the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) railroad tracks and west of the White Aloe Branch. The Park area is south of the BNSF railroad tracks, east of the White Aloe Branch and extends adjacent to the Missouri River. The Study was adopted by the Board of Aldermen on March 18, 2014.
