In 2020, the City will be updating the Parkville Master Plan, a comprehensive plan to guide policies and provide recommendations for future actions involving land development, sustainability, development design, provision of infrastructure, preservation of open spaces and natural resources and preservation of the community character originally adopted on July 7, 2009. In 2019, the City selected the planning consulting firm Confluence to lead the project. The Planning & Zoning Commission will serve as the steering committee for the project.
Confluence is in the process of identifying a schedule of workshops and community meetings that will take place at key stages of the project – with a goal of completing the plan by the end of 2020 or in early 2021. Residents, business owners and other key stakeholders will have several opportunities to participate in the planning process.
The City will help to distribute meeting notices in a variety of ways. If you are interested in being notified directly about upcoming public meetings and workshops, please send your e-mail address to Community Development Director Stephen Lachky. We look forward to public participation at upcoming meetings and to hear your thoughts regarding Parkville’s future.
