The City of Parkville, in conjunction with the Veteran’s Memorial Committee, sought public input for designs for the Monument at the Veteran’s Memorial Campaign. The campaign provided an opportunity for citizens to honor Veterans by submitting design concepts for a future memorial to be located in English Landing Park. The public voted on the top candidates at a booth inside the American Legion (11 Main Street) at Christmas on the River and through the City’s website.
Donations are being accepted, through the City of Parkville, for the construction and completion of the monument. All items purchased must be in honor of a fallen Veteran or Veterans.
Updates will be available on the City’s Facebook (@CityofParkville) and Twitter (@parkvillemo) pages using the hashtag #MonumentVeteransMemorialPKV and on the City’s website. The winning design will be displayed at City Hall for public viewing until the monument is completed.
The committee will work with the top 3 designs (A, D & E below) based on the public vote. After a plan is developed, fundraising will begin.
