From Parkville Police and Emergency Management
English Landing and Platte Landing Parks will remain closed until the area is deemed safe to open again.
As of noon on March 18, the Missouri river is predicted to crest at 32.4’ on Friday, March 22nd at the river gauge northwest of downtown Parkville under I-435. At that level, the National Weather Service predicts the water will begin to enter parts of the City parking lots, but will not pose any threat to businesses or residences south of the railroad tracks.
Based on current predictions, there will be no sandbagging or other emergency mitigation in Parkville. We continue to monitor the river level and are in contact with the National Weather Service. We will update further if the river forecast indicates any significant increase.
