Important topics include the improvement of existing facilities, future amenity needs, top project priorities and more. The purpose of the planning effort is to create a new Parkville Parks Plan with specific emphasis on the riverfront parks corridor, including regionally significant Platte Landing Park and the western portion of English Landing Park. The primary goal is to re-examine community priorities for riverfront parks and develop a strategy to guide park development over the next 10 to 15 years.
The planning process began earlier this year and will continue through the summer of 2016. Feedback from community stakeholders is essential to the successful development of the plan and as a result. The nine member Parkville Community Land and Recreation Board (CLARB) and several Platte County officials were identified and are currently serving as the steering committee for the project.
