HISTORY
The Parkville Farmers Market has long been a valued community gathering place, serving residents and visitors for many years on public land in downtown Parkville.
In January 2014, the City of Parkville entered into a use agreement with the Parkville Farmers Market Association, transitioning vendor management and daily market operations to the Association while the City continued to support the market through facility oversight.
In 2022, the original farmers market structure was destroyed. In response, the City of Parkville made a significant investment to rebuild and enhance the market for the future. The new Farmers Market building was constructed larger to accommodate additional vendor stalls and improve the overall visitor experience. The project included upgraded lighting and fans, new ADA-accessible sidewalks and ramps, and improvements to the surrounding parking lot.
Today, the rebuilt Parkville Farmers Market reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, local business support, and creating a welcoming community space.
