The Parkville Police Department provides comprehensive law enforcement services to a suburban community located northwest of downtown Kansas City, Missouri in southern Platte County. The Department patrols five state highways and one major interstate. The city is comprised of approximately 15.41 square miles with a total estimated population of over 7,100 (US Census 2020) residents and borders Kansas City and Riverside, Missouri; Kansas City, Kansas; and unincorporated Platte County.
The Parkville Police Department, when fully staffed, has 20 sworn officers and one civilian employee. The Department is made up of a patrol division, investigations division and specialized bicycle patrol unit. The Parkville Police Department officers handle a broad variety of calls for service, as well as provide traffic enforcement for the City.
