Public Input Opportunity – MS4 Permit Compliance

Parkville, Missouri logo

The City is seeking citizen feedback as part of its compliance with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources requirements under the General State Operating Permit Phase II – MS4 (Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System) permit. This permit establishes minimum standards for how municipalities must manage stormwater runoff to meet the requirements of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act.

As part of the MS4 permit process, local municipalities are required to provide opportunities for public involvement and input on how the City implements stormwater pollution prevention measures. This helps ensure transparency and encourages community participation in protecting water quality.

Please note, this effort is specifically related to our MS4 permit obligations and is separate from the City’s ongoing Stormwater Master Planning efforts or the forthcoming Stormwater Standards update. We will continue to pursue a broader Stormwater Management Plan later this year, but that is a separate initiative.

We invite residents to share their comments, questions, or suggestions regarding the City’s current MS4 stormwater practices and processes on our website at https://parkvillemo.gov/departments/public-works/.
