Business Licenses

The City of Parkville is fortunate to attract businesses offering a successful and unique blend of products and services to the residents and visitors. All businesses that operate within the City are required to obtain a license (Parkville Municipal Code Section 605.050). The business license period runs from June 1 to May 31 each year. Any business operating or completing work in Parkville needs to fill out the appropriate application in order to obtain a license. For faster approval , please bring a printed or typed application with required documentation. The following items are required for businesses located in Parkville:

  7. Proof of current Worker’s Compensation coverage (required for construction industry only, unless exempt under RSMo 287.090) - Fax a copy of your current policy to (816) 741-0013; must be kept current to maintain a valid license throughout the license period (June 1 – May 31). Note: Although the City of Parkville does not require proof of workers’ compensation for non-construction businesses, check with the Missouri Department of Labor for other workers’ compensation requirements.

Inspections:
All new businesses located in Parkville must schedule an inspection with the Southern Platte Fire Protection District Fire Marshal and City Inspector before their business license will be approved. Please call (816) 741-2900 to schedule your inspection with the Fire Marshal and he will coordinate with the City Inspectors.

Business Personal Property Tax: You must register your business Personal Property tax with Platte County. Proof of registration will be required for new businesses by supplying a tax waiver issued by the County. There are penalties for delayed registration.  More information & FAQs

 RETAIL SALES

 ALCOHOL SALES
