A license is required for dogs six months or older. The fee per year is $10.00 if neutered/spayed, $15.00 if not neutered/spayed. The license is valid for one year from the date of registration. A copy of proof of current rabies vaccination is required at time of registration.
Once you have obtained your dog tags, you are required to affix the tag to the dog’s collar and see that the collar and tag are constantly worn by your dog.
Parkville’s Animal Control Code allows a maximum of three dogs and or three cats. Dogs must be on leashes and owners must pick up after their dogs. More detailed information can be found under Parkville Municipal Code Chapter 210: Animal Regulations.
The annual license fees are: $10.00 if neutered/spayed and $15.00 for dogs not neutered/spayed. A penalty of 50% of the license fee per dog will be assessed for late registration if not paid by the end of the month your tag(s) expire – please submit your application to City Hall. We accept payment by cash, check made out to City of Parkville or credit card (convenience fee may apply) .
Renewal reminders will be sent annually via e-mail to those who have a current e-mail address on record or by mail for those without an e-mail. The Dog License Application is available for you to print, fill out and sign.
To pick up your dog tag in person, please bring your completed application form, a copy of proof of vaccination and payment (cash or check) to the front desk at City Hall located at 8880 Clark Avenue in the Parkville Commons.
