The City’s Sidewalk Gap Inventory and Rating Plan is intended to provide the missing links throughout Parkville for pedestrians to access areas, such as the historic downtown area containing small businesses with shopping and food destinations; to our renowned parks system that includes English Landing Park, Platte Landing Park, and other riverfront destinations; and to other residential neighborhoods and commercial shopping centers throughout the city. By connecting gaps throughout the City’s sidewalk infrastructure network, the goal is to improve accessibility options and connections for pedestrian transportation, thereby reducing gas emissions in the process.
The plan will analyze the City’s existing sidewalk inventory and create a rating system to prioritize how the gaps will be addressed in future years through the Capital Improvement Program.
