The Parkville Police Department offers a comprehensive benefits package for full-time police officers.
Salary Range: $62,400 – $87,360/year
Lateral Pay: For experienced police officers
Uniforms and Equipment: The Police Department provides starting and replacement equipment and uniform items.
Retirement: The City participates in the Missouri LAGERS retirement system at the L-6 Program level. LAGERS is fully funded by the City.
Vacation/Holiday Time: Every sworn member of the department receives 80 hours of vacation time per year for the first five years of employment (increasing thereafter). Officers also get 12 paid holidays per year.
Sick/Injury Leave: Members accumulate eight hours of sick leave per month which can be accumulated up to 960 hours. There is also paid time off for bereavement.
Tuition Reimbursement: There is a program in place for tuition reimbursement. A portion of a member’s continuing education may be reimbursed by the City.
Life Insurance: The City provides a life insurance plan and there is a supplemental life insurance plan available to all employees for a nominal fee.
