Celebrate Independence Day in the City of Parkville with hometown pride, community spirit, family-friendly fun, and classic Americana.
Join us for a full day of patriotic fun at the annual Parkville 4th of July Celebration in historic downtown Parkville.
Start your morning with the traditional Pancake Breakfast hosted by American Legion Parkville Post #318 from 7:00 to 10:30 a.m. The Parkville Farmers Market will also be open extended hours from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., giving visitors more time to shop local vendors and enjoy special activities, including a pie eating contest, children’s face painting, a balloon artist, and more.
At 10:00 a.m., line the streets for Parkville’s beloved Independence Day Parade, featuring local organizations, small businesses, families, floats, and plenty of red, white, and blue. The parade grandstand will be located at Pocket Park at 1st and Main Street, with Independence Day trivia and giveaways beginning at 10:00 a.m.
After the parade, shop local and soak in the small-town charm that makes Parkville such a special place to celebrate. Local restaurants will be open throughout the day for dine-in and carry-out service.
The evening celebration begins at 6:00 p.m. with festival vendors and food trucks located in the downtown parking lot, along with kids’ activities and family-friendly fun near the river.
At approximately 8:45 p.m., look to the sky for the patriotic Falcon Skydiving Exhibition above English Landing Park and Main Street. Then, cap off the celebration with Parkville’s spectacular fireworks display over the Missouri River at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Free shuttle service to downtown Parkville will run from 6:00 to 11:00 p.m., with pick-up and drop-off at the South Platte YMCA.
Bring your lawn chairs, family, and festive spirit. The best viewing areas for the fireworks include the baseball field south of the city parking lot, Main Street, and English Landing Park.
Admission is free.
