Brian T. Whitley was elected in April 2017 to serve as Ward 2 Alderman and was subsequently re-elected in 2019, 2021 and 2023, serving as Acting President of the Board of Aldermen in 2022 and 2023.
Since 2003, Brian has served in numerous appointed and elected positions with homeowners’ associations and municipal government. Brian brings his experience with finance, grants, public works, legislation, economic development and downtown revival to service for the people of Parkville. He was a finalist for the Missouri Outstanding Public Official award in 2011.
Professionally, Brian works in the federal government providing oversight of agencies and entities that provide health care and other services to the American public, particularly at-risk youth. Prior to his federal career, Brian was an EMT, providing emergency medical services in Topeka and Johnson County.
Brian received Bachelor’s degrees in cellular biology and microbiology and a Master’s degree in public health from the University of Kansas. He resides at Riss Lake with his wife Ellen and son Nathan.
