The City of Parkville received a $1,500 micro-grant from KCP&L: Kansas City Power & Light to plant shade trees around the new Platte Landing Park Dog Park. Parkville was one of 17 organizations that received a micro-grant from KCP&L. The new trees will be planted this coming fall!

Save the date! Parktoberfest 2014 kicks off with the 3rd annual 5K/10K Run/Walk. This will be the first 10K run through Platte Landing Park! Partial proceeds of the event go to support Friends of Parkville Parks. The first 200 registered participants are guaranteed a goodie bag and a t-shirt. On July 1, MRC held an electronics recycling event at City Hall from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm. The event proved to be such a huge success that the MRC truck was filled to the brim and had leave early. If you missed the event on July 1, MRC will return for another electronics recycling event on September 2, from 2:30 pm to 6:30 pm at City Hall.
